Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone was able to dwell with Heavenly Father and the Spirit today (as you should have) and got to be thankful and rest all day. Have you ever thought about the things you were thankful for? and I mean EVERY THING! For some people that might be a short list but for most people and myself, making that list is nearly impossible to finish writing. I find that everyday I find at least 1 thing to be thankful for. There were times in my life that I had a 7 mile page of things that I thought were going wrong and that I thought were dumb or I was very unthankful for. Where did that get me? No where. Instead of being happy for something I was thankful for I found myself being very unhappy and I wasn't glorifying God in these moments. I was challenged one day by a pair of missionaries to start a list of every thing that I was thankful for. I didn't have to finish it now, I didn't have to share it with anyone but progressively over a timeline I should add to the list. On the first day I wrote down everything on the top of my mind that I could think of that I was thankful for. I got maybe 3 pages in and my brain started to hurt. As days went on, I added more items. Slowly I started to become discouraged because the list was never finished but what I didn't realize was that, not finishing the list was a blessing in of itself. Our list should never be finished. We should keep adding to this list every single day without ceasing. There is always one more thing that we are grateful for, whether it be an event, a person, a thing, an emotion, a piece of scripture or what ever it may be. Life is full of blessings! Embrace it.
